Health Reform: Implementing Insurance Coverage Expansion (10/26)

Michael Nolin, Hilltop

Michael Nolin, Interim Executive Director of the Hilltop Institute, will speak at the event.

The Hilltop Institute at UMBC will host “Health Reform: Implementing Insurance Coverage Expansion” on Friday, October 26, 10:30 a.m.-noon in the Albin O. Kuhn Library, 7th floor. Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend to learn about the policy and financial structure of health insurance reform, as well as its implementation nationally and in Maryland.

Since 2010, when the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was passed, Hilltop has provided support to Maryland and New Mexico as these states implement the federal health reform legislation. Hilltop also developed a financial model, the Hilltop Health Care Reform Simulation Model, which can project the costs and savings associated with implementing health reform in different states. Hilltop continues to support Maryland’s health reform implementation by providing consultation and technical assistance to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange.
