Drs. Kara Hunt, Rwany Sibaja, and Evelyn Thomas join UMBC as the 2013-2015 Postdoctoral Fellows for Faculty Diversity

After reviewing more than 200 applications for the 2013-2015 Postdoctoral Fellowship for Faculty Diversity, we pleased to welcome Drs. Kara Hunt, Rwany Sibaja, and Evelyn Thomas to our campus community:

Dr. Hunt completed her Doctoral Dissertation, “Black Jokes:  Humor, the Modern Human, and the Politics of Black Laughter” at the University of California, Irvine and will be working under the mentorship of Dr. Jason Loviglio, Director and Associate Professor of Media and Communication Studies.

Dr. Sibaja completed his Doctoral Dissertation, “¡Animales! Civility, Disorder, and Constructions of Identity in Argentine Soccer” at George Mason University and will be working under the mentorship of Dr. Derek Musgrove, Assistant Professor of History.

Dr. Thomas completed her Doctoral Dissertation, “The Effect of Bisexual Males on the Spread of Incurable Sexually Transmitted Diseases” at Howard University and will be working under the mentorship of Dr. Kathleen Hoffman, Professor of Mathematics and Statistics.
